September 2011

It is Sept now, It has been raining everyday and today I found out all of Prema's cupboards and mine are moldy because of the wet season.

Where is August? It passed by so fast without me realizing it. It was a busy August, Gems had the annual Holiday Program and this year was the first time I got involved. I truly enjoyed the Program, esp the field trip to the Paddy field and fruit farm and picnic at the park.

Rain, rain and more rain since September arrived. Other than rain, Kim from China and Su feng from Melacca arrived on the 2nd, Asraff and Emily from Canada arrived on the 11th. The house is full of chatters and life now. We quickly came to an arrangement, Kim cooks Monday, Su Feng Tuesday, I takes Wednesday, Ashraff Thursday and Emily Friday. As for Saturday and sunday, we take care of our own dinner. There is a container in the kitchen where we each put in some money for gas, oil, kitchap and so on... For now, Kim and Su Feng sleep on the floor in my room but they will eventually go back upstairs to their room.

It is Public holiday from today until 29th because it is "phchuburn", UniED, Gems are quiet, all the teachers, students have gone back to their villages and we, foreigners have no where to go except to stay back. It is kind of nice for once without working or studying for me.

Su Feng invited the foreign students of UniED for pot luck lunch last Saturday. Kai from Burma and Mimi from Malaysia cooked Myamma food, Chrytain from Phillippines brought some fruits and we cooked the rest. Ashraff and Emily went to Phnom Penh.

Being young and carefree (the age is from 16 - 61 years old), the lunch extended to tea and then dinner and they decided to stay back and watched DVD. So we had our first slumber party where everyone sat on my bed, watched " Six Sense" and "The Green Lantern". Dinner became breakfast the next day and lunch follow. Finally they left by 1 pm to visit some other friends.

I have been busy for so many months and it is so nice knowing that I don't have to get up early, rushing for breakfast and work. Life in Battambang other than playing computer games, most of the time I spend on studying and helping in Gems International School.

I know that eventually I have to go back to finish my Research paper but now I just want to do nothing but watch my Korean Movie.
