Death - a messenger of joy 1

It was the 16th of April last year that we received the news of the passing my brother, Boo Peng. It came as a shock to us because he was only 61 yrs old.

Here I was trying to capture the essence of Chinese Funeral and the feeling of everyone.

As all religions, the Chinese believe in Life after Death but there is no mention of heaven, only there are 18 levels of hells and where you are going very much depend on what you do in this life ! (Is it not all of our belief too ?)
You see, there is a judge with two assistants, one with the head of a cow and the other a face of horse. In the hour of death, this two will come to arrest you. And there will be a book which account your good and bad deeds and decide on the punishment. We also believe that as the descendent we can save them from the deepest hell by praying, fasting, doing charity and contribute to the temple.

As for the Buddhish, we believe that we will go to the "world of ultimate happiness" so all of us do talk about the Life after death !

According to Baha'u'llah the soul retains its individuality and consciousness after death, and is able to commune with other souls. This communion, however, is purely spiritual in character, and is conditioned upon the disinterested and selfless love of the individuals for each other.
