Wedding Eve
I am sure by now relatives and friends all over the world know about THE WEDDING of the year, the granddaughter of Chong Boon Piew......Chong Aik Yew got married on the 23rd of August.
Why do I say it was the even of the year, it was for the Chong Clan. It has been quite a while since the last wedding. All of us (those aunties and cousins in Malaysia )took the opportunity to go back to Alor Star, It served as a reunion for us too. The bridegroom's family chartered a bus all the way from Kuala Lumpur to Alor Star.
Belows are some of the activities on the wedding eve. to view more photos, go to your own facebook.
We started the day with Breakfast in a coffee shop in Jitra, Kedah with my two sisters in-law
Then to market (with 3ee's order, must cook lunch and dinner for the eve)
"tau eu bak" black kitchap pork is a must
Bride Sally Chong (she MUST show peace sign every time her pic taken)
The last fried champedak left
See how many hands went for it
"Lai Sau" (with flora shirt) was the one who fried the Champedak. She is the 2nd sister in-law of my 2nd sister in-law. They stayed two doors from our house and I can still picture her sitting by the chopping board cutting veg, cooking. I spent most of my waking hours in her house (almost all my waking hours) I was in my teen when she got married and moved to Tanah Merah. She is still the same "Lai Sau" warm, generous, and loving.
Flowers for the bridal car

Another Must " Jiu hu chay" the veg must be cut very fine and it required skill.
